Accessibility and Inclusion

Blue Bus Tours Accessibility and Inclusion

At Blue Bus Tours, accessibility and inclusiveness are close to our hearts. As a family-run business with lived experience caring for someone with a severe disability and mobility issues, we truly understand the barriers that travel can present.

We’ve designed our tours with accessibility in mind wherever possible. Our goal is to help more people experience the joy of travel, and we welcome a conversation with you to see how we can support your needs on tour.

Our Coach
Our luxury touring coach includes:

  •  A wheelchair lifter with capacity for up to two manual or powered wheelchairs
  • No-step access (coach kneels at the front for easier entry)
  • Additional grabrails for safe entry
  • Support for walkers and mobility aids (preferably folding)

We also offer help with boarding and disembarking—just let us know if you require assistance.

Health and Fitness
To enjoy your tour, we recommend a reasonable level of health and mobility. Please contact us to discuss the tour you are interested in, and we can advise on the suitability of that tour for you and advise whether you may need to travel with a carer who can assist.

  • You should be able to get in and out of transportation unassisted and to be able to manage your own luggage.
  • You should be able to walk a short distance for most tours and some tours include stair climbing (this may include accommodation upstairs, depending on the tour). You may have to walk over uneven ground with no paving.
  • There may be times when you will be standing for up to 30 minutes during a tour of an attraction.
  • There may be times when the shower provided in your accommodation is over a bath.

Guests with Special Needs

If you have mobility limitations, medical conditions, or require specific assistance, please let us know when booking. You’re welcome to travel with a support person or carer. Please note that our staff and other guests cannot provide personal care and we do not provide carers. You can see full details in our Terms & Conditions.

Accommodation Accessibility

While we aim to partner with accessible accommodation and attraction providers, full accessibility cannot be guaranteed on every tour—particularly in rural or outback regions. Please contact us to discuss your needs and we’ll do everything we can to assess whether the tour is suitable.

Group Dynamics

Being part of a group tour also means showing patience, punctuality, and consideration for others. If we believe your behaviour puts the group’s safety or enjoyment at risk, we reserve the right to decline or end your participation as outlined in our Terms & Conditions.

If you’re considering joining one of our tours and have any questions about accessibility, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
