Day 1: (LD)
Brisbane to Toowoomba
Mon 22 Sep 25
Welcome to our short break to Toowoomba. This morning we head up the range to visit the famous Picnic Point Lookout, perched on the edge of the Great Dividing Range. The lookout and gardens provide amazing views of the Lockyer Valley and Tabletop Mountain. We will have morning tea here before visiting Queens Park with its bright flower beds, large canopies of stately trees and expansive lawns spread across 25 acres. After lunch we will visit one of the Exhibition Gardens followed by a visit to Ju Raku En, Australia’s largest and most traditionally designed Japanese Stroll Garden. Roughly translated, Ju Raku En means ‘to enjoy peace and longevity in a public place’. We then head to our accommodation at the Platinum International Motel for the next two nights.
Day 2: (BLD)

Tue 23 Sep 25
This morning, we visit St Luke’s Flower and Music Festival for floral displays, music performances and artisan stalls. We will then visit Laurel Bank Park with its spectacular gardens designed around a common theme, before enjoying lunch at Kingfishers Cafe. In the afternoon, we’ll enjoy a guided tour of some of Toowoomba’s award-winning Private Gardens with one of Toowoomba’s most experienced and passionate guides, Barbara McGovern. We will then head to our accommodation for the night.

Wed 24 Sep 25
This morning, we visit Highfields where we will wander through some of the inspiring Exhibition Gardens around Highfields and Blue Mountain Heights before heading to the Blue Mountain Hotel to enjoy our lunch with panoramic views over the Lockyer Valley. We’ll then make our way to heritage-listed Spring Bluff Railway Station to explore the beautifully landscaped gardens before heading home via Pohlman’s Nursery for the opportunity to buy some plants to create our own blooming gardens at home.
