Day 1: (D)

Brisbane to Adelaide

We fly into Adelaide and meet our friendly Blue Bus coach captain before settling into our hotel. After time to freshen up, we gather for a welcome dinner and prepare for the scenic journey ahead through South Australia’s wild and wonderful landscapes.

Adelaide to Port Augusta

Travelling north, we visit the Australian Arid Lands Botanic Gardens and learn how native plants thrive in extreme conditions. At Wadlata Outback Centre, interactive exhibits reveal the region’s rich Aboriginal and European history before we settle in for the evening in Port Augusta.

Day 3: (BLD)

Port Augusta to Arkaroola

We visit Jeff Morgan’s Gallery in Hawker to view the breathtaking Wilpena Panorama, then continue to Arkaroola in the Gammon Ranges. This remote sanctuary offers dramatic terrain and wildlife encounters, including the rare Yellow Footed Rock Wallaby feeding near our lodge.

Day 4: (BLD)

Arkaroola - Ridgetop Tour

A 4WD Ridgetop Tour takes us deep into Arkaroola’s rugged landscape. With expert commentary, we explore ancient granite ranges and view Yudnamutana Gorge and Lake Frome salt lake. The afternoon is yours to relax, take a scenic walk, or enjoy optional activities in this peaceful sanctuary.

Day 5: (BLD)

Arkaroola to Wilpena Pound

We travel to Leigh Creek for lunch, then continue to Wilpena Pound Resort. As the sun sets, we enjoy Sundowners at Stokes Hill—nibbles, drinks, and panoramic views over the Flinders Ranges.

Day 6: (BLD)

Wilpena Pound

A guided tour of Flinders Ranges reveals dramatic gorges, ancient geology, and rich Aboriginal history. We explore rugged peaks and rocky landscapes, home to diverse wildlife and stories that span millions of years.

Day 7: (BLD)

Wilpena to Monarto

We visit Burra’s historic copper mine and enjoy a wine tasting at Seppeltsfield in the Barossa Valley. Our journey ends at Monarto Safari Resort, where luxury meets adventure in a unique wilderness setting with stunning views and gourmet dining.

Day 8: (BLD)

Monarto Zoo - Safari Experience

We explore Monarto Zoo’s open plains, home to over 50 species of native and African animals. The Lions 360 Experience offers a thrilling close-up view of Australia’s largest lion pride. An after-hours safari tour rounds out this unforgettable day.

Day 9: (BLD)

Monarto to Hahndorf

We head to the Adelaide Hills. In Hahndorf, we join a guided Strudel and Stroll tour, crafting our own apple strudel and exploring the town’s rich German heritage. With charming architecture and local stories, it’s a delightful blend of history and culinary fun.

Day 10: (BLD)

Adelaide Hills

We visit Beerenberg Farm, The Cedars (home of Sir Hans Heysen), and Melba’s Chocolate Factory. From fine art and historic gardens to handmade chocolates and cheeses, today is a celebration of creativity and flavour in the Adelaide Hills.

Day 11: (B)

Adelaide to Brisbane

With bags packed and memories made, we transfer to Adelaide Airport for our flight home. This enriching journey through South Australia’s wilderness, wildlife, and cultural gems leaves us with stories to treasure.
