Tour Itinerary
Day 1: (LD)
Brisbane to Coffs Harbour
Wed 29 Oct 25
Welcome to our five-day tour to Coffs Harbour featuring the Jacaranda Festival. As early as 1866, the Grafton Council resolved to consider by-laws for the planting and preserving of trees and shrubs in the streets and recreation grounds. There are now some 7000 trees in Grafton and many beautiful parks. The most famous of trees is of course the Jacaranda. We have a picturesque drive today as we travel into the Scenic Rim region via Beaudesert. Driving on towards the charming country town of Kyogle, it is clear that cattle grazing, dairy farming and forestry are the primary industries here. We stop in Casino, located on the Richmond River, for lunch before travelling through the scenic Summerland Way to Coffs Harbour.
Day 2: (BLD)
Coffs Harbour
Thu 30 Oct 25
We start the day taking a drive through banana plantations and avocado groves to Forest Sky Pier. This lookout offers magnificent coastal views over Coffs Harbour and down the coastline. From here we head to Carobana Confectionery to uncover the variety of carob coated fruits, nuts and sweets. Afterwards we visit Coffs Coast Wildlife Sanctuary, home to many marine animals including the Indo-Pacific bottle nose dolphins, Australian sea lions and a colony of little blue penguins. This afternoon we experience the colour and charm of Holland at the unique and quirky Clog Barn. We will witness a clog making demonstration and take a stroll through the miniature Dutch village, handmade by owner Thomas Hartsuyker.
Day 3: (BLD)
Taylors Arm and Bellingen
Fri 31 Oct 25
Our tour today takes us to Taylors Arm, an area of undulating landscape and state forests. The early days saw cedar felling and dairying but today we are stopping in at Perry’s Lemon Myrtle for a talk on the farm and their products. Lemon myrtle is native to Australia and its popularity is ever increasing, perhaps due to its rarity. For lunch we stop at the Pub with No Beer, an Australian icon immortalised by Slim Dusty in the biggest selling single in 1958. We enjoy lunch here, plus time to view an array of artefacts and memorabilia adorning the pub walls. Retracing our steps, we make a stop in Bellingen where the quaint town is peppered with cafes, galleries and bars. We have time at leisure to browse before returning to Coffs Harbour.
Day 4: (BD)
Jacaranda Festival
Sat 1 Nov 25
This morning, we travel to Grafton for the Jacaranda Festival. First, we are met by a local guide who will join us on the coach for a town tour. Then we have time at leisure to enjoy the festival*. Wander through the markets, view the many stalls selling wares, enjoy the entertainment of Market Square, experience the Grafton gardens or simply take in all the festival fun – the choice is yours! At a designated time, we will meet the coach and travel back to Coffs Harbour.
Day 5: (BL)
Coffs Harbour to Brisbane
Sun 2 Nov 25
This morning, we head north to the coastal town of Woolgoolga where we visit the Sikh Heritage Museum, located within the Guru Nanak Sikh Temple. The temple was built by the town’s Sikh residents whose ancestors travelled to the North Coast around the time of federation. We travel to Ballina where we enjoy lunch before continuing our journey home, arriving late in the afternoon from a fantastic tour.
