Home to K'gari

Welcome to our fantastic tour to K’gari (Fraser Island). Witness the splendour of this coastal region by soaking up this natural wonder and experiencing unforgettable wildlife encounters. After our morning pickups we begin our journey to World Heritage Listed K’gari. We have a travel day ahead as we make our way to Hervey Bay before boarding the ferry to K’gari. K’gari means “paradise” for the traditional owners, the Butchulla people, the island’s diverse landscapes and unique wildlife entice tourists to its shores every year. After time to check in we enjoy a complimentary drink at the Sunset Bar whilst enjoying the Kingfisher Bay sunset. What a way to start our incredible adventure!

K'gari Island Exploration

We discover K’gari’s ancient sand dunes, long stretches of white sandy beaches, freshwater lakes and lush rainforests on our 4WD tour. Feel the pure white silica sand between our toes and swim in the crystal-clear water as we discover Lake McKenzie. We also visit Maheno Shipwreck, the most famous wreck on the island that washed ashore on 75 Mile Beach during a cyclone. On our travels, look out for the island’s incredible dingo population, renowned as the purest breed in Australia. Having had a magnificent day seeing this stunning sand island, we return to our resort for our Christmas themed dinner in the ballroom with a gift to take home.

Whale Watching

This morning will be a highlight as we head off in search of migrating humpback whales on our whale watching cruise. Seeing a whale in the wild is the experience of a lifetime and one of the safest places to do this is in the Hervey Bay National Marine Park. Witnessing the awesome humpback whale as it offers a spectacular display of pectoral slaps, body rolls and the breathtaking breach is a truly inspiring moment. We enjoy lunch together then we have a leisurely afternoon with the opportunity to choose one of the resort’s activities, maybe a walk with a ranger or a massage (at own expense), a swim or read your book lounging around the pool. Later in the afternoon we have a bush tucker talk with tastings given by one of the resident rangers. Our day will be topped off with a bush tucker inspired dinner – a perfect way to end our time on beautiful K’gari.

K'gari to Home

After our ferry back to the mainland, we venture home towards Brisbane. We stop for convenience breaks and time to purchase lunch before arriving home from a fantastic getaway..
